New Board Chair and Vice Chair will lead the nonprofit’s all-female Board of Directors

CLEVELAND, Ohio  - The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging Board of Directors has appointed Sarah Dimling as Board Chair and Belva Denmark Tibbs as Vice Chair, effective December 13, 2022 for a two-year term.

Both women bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles and share a passion for community involvement and philanthropy.

Dimling spent nearly 30 years as Vice President and financial advisor with AB Bernstein Private Wealth Management in Cleveland. She currently serves on the Lake View Cemetery Foundation Board and is a Civic Improvement Committee zone representative for Garden Club of America. She previously served as Board Treasurer for Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, Chair of the Cleveland Museum of Art Planned Giving Advisory Committee and United Way of Greater Cleveland Investment Committee member. Dimling succeeded former Board Chair Nancy Adams.

“It is truly an honor to serve as Board Chair of this gifted all-female board for such an outstanding and impactful organization,” states Dimling. “Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging has compassionately served the ever-changing needs of older adults and their caregivers for over 100 years. This is accomplished through a wide variety of innovative solutions, programs and services. We are all impacted in some way by the myriad issues associated with aging and I’m looking forward to deepening my involvement with such passionate, talented and engaged board and staff members.”

Denmark Tibbs retired from HealthSpan (formerly Kaiser Permanente) after more than 25 years. She worked primarily as a senior executive responsible for operations. She is a former board chair of the Saint Luke’s Foundation, a member of Ideastream Public Media board, and has received numerous awards for her community service and youth mentoring efforts. “I’m thrilled to work with an organization whose mission is to help everyone age well. The more I learn about this 115-year-old institution, the more I’m convinced that Benjamin Rose is the best-kept secret in our own backyard.”

President and CEO of Benjamin Rose, Orion Bell, says of the appointment: “We are thrilled to have Sarah and Belva leading the Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging’s Board of Directors. I have enjoyed our long-standing partnership from their years of service on the board and I’m excited about what that means for Benjamin Rose’s future.”

The Board of Directors comprises 22 members, all of whom are women. Upon Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging’s incorporation in 1908, founder Benjamin Rose specified in his will that the agency be led by an all-female Board. Rose’s stipulation has been honored throughout the history of the organization.
