Here’s a startling fact— one in six people in every workforce has a second job— and it’s not one they even get paid to do. It’s true: more than 18 percent of employed individuals also serve as a caregiver to an aging family member or friend.
Being a caregiver for an older adult is often a stressful, tiresome and relentless undertaking. It’s been proven to create a significant drain on the caregiver’s time and energy, not to mention a noticeable increase in their stress levels.
And 80% of these working caregivers acknowledge that their caregiving duties affect their workplace productivity.
Fortunately, savvy and caring benefits providers are answering the call of this growing workplace need by providing access to innovative programs that can help employee caregivers to work and simultaneously care for someone special.
WeCare…Because You Do℠ is a proven program that you can offer as a benefit. It provides both the practical resources and the emotional support to help employees handle their responsibilities at work AND take good care of themselves and those who need them most.
